We encourage you to get involved in SBS awareness and education!

Volunteer Your Time

There are numerous organizations in the Danville, Illinois, area which rely on volunteers.  Crosspoint at the Y (formerly Your Family Resource Connection), Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Red Cross are just a few.  Your local church or school may also offer volunteer opportunities.  Check out our Links page for a few possibilities.

Clockwise, YFRC's Tawnya Morgan, Marsha, North Ridge students Jonathan Delzell and Javon Shaw

The Builder's Club from North Ridge Middle School raised enough money in 2007 to donate two handmade rockers and two hobby horses, one for a boy and one for a girl, to Your Family Resource Connection.  Javon and Jonathan were the top fundraisers.  This project was conducted in Reagan's memory.

Write a Letter to the Editor

Raising public awareness of SBS through the media is also very powerful.  Our local newspapers, the Danville, Illinois Commercial-News and the Champaign-Urbana News Gazette welcome letters to the editor.  We include a Commercial-News link.

Crosspoint at the Y Wish List

Crosspoint at the Y (formerly the YFRC Women's Shelter and Child's Advocacy Program) puts out a wish list of supplies necessary for maintaining their programs.  Please contact Tawnya Morgan at Crosspoint at the Y for more details.

Enjoy Bluegrass Music and Donate to Reagan's Rescue

Friends Jerry and Joan Paul, members of Lost Mill String Band, from the Sevierville, Tennessee, area are popular and talented musicians devoted to Bluegrass and Mountain music.  They are also fine Christian people who, in Reagan's memory, recently made a donation of several CDs, including their latest, entitled "Kiddin' Around," a collection of children's songs sure to delight kids (and adults who still cherish childhood memories).  Other CDs include "Old Mountain Preacher" and a disc of Appalachian instrumentals.  For a $10 donation to Reagan's Rescue, plus $4 for shipping, you can help Reagan's Rescue and enjoy a gift of music.  Contact us through e-mail with your request.
